Well.... How do i begin??
Times of India or TOI as it is popularly known dated 25 th November 2005 has got me thinking profoundly of the homo sapien species. For the first time, I am ashamed of belonging to this class of mammals. Well, what else would i want to be......i dont know.......and it hardly matters....but now this minute, this second.......I dont wanna belong to this genre........
We are called human beings....but we are hardly human........
Kutty's body is being flown to kerala by an Indian Airlines flight IC 744 wrapped in the tri-color....His family is being given a compensation of 10 lakhs by the government and free education for his two children.....yes that will make up for his brutal death.......Sudha murthy takes pity on this poor family and donates 5 lakhs.....yes this will make their lives better........
In some other part of the world, a muslim mother cries over the burnt body of her son who was a victim of a bomb blast.......
In another corner, a wife cries over the body of her dead husband who could have been saved if the doctors at a local hospital cared a little bit more for something called "life".
How are these incidents related ??? They all contributed to making my morning a miserable one.......They all bring out the fact that there is absolutely no value for life in today's world......They scream into my ears that we humans are a disgraceful lot and we alone are responsible for today's state of affairs.
It gets me thinking......how did life come into existence......yes we have innumerable answers for this question from the scientific world........but deep down inside....you must and im sure u will agree that there is something somewhere that has no answer, something that has been a mystery for hundreds of thousands of years and will continue to remain so......it gets you and me thinking that there is some power that has brought life as it is known into existence....making it something so very very very precious.......
But.....we human beings fail to understand this........we have created the evils of the world....we have created borders.....we have created countries......we have differentiated........we have created religions....we have created weapons of mass destruction......we have killed other human beings....we have spat blood ,hatred and tears all over the world.......and u know what......we fail to realize that in the process....we are destroying ourselves........we fail to understand that at the end of the day.......we are all "human beings".......we are all bothers and sisters and mothers and fathers and sons and daughters.......we all live in one big home ...planet earth.......the mountains, the seas , the rivers and valleys are all urs and mine..........we all belong to one religion.....the religion of "humanity".......
I really wish that someday we all understand this simple thought and change the world to make it a better place for you and me......yes......we need to heal the world..........
